You know it’s kind of funny to me (after being annoying) that people complain so much about entitlement.
Maybe life has just taught me different than other people. Because there is one lesson that keeps hitting me recently. Yes, you will more often than not, not get what you haven’t worked for, but also even what you have earned or deserve is never guaranteed.
It doesn’t matter how hard you have worked for it, how long you’ve worked for, it doesn’t matter how good of a job you’ve done, it doesn’t matter if you’ve beat other records of accomplishment, it doesn’t matter if you’ve loved a person deeply, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never hurt a person, it doesn’t matter if you tried your best to explain, it doesn’t matter if you’ve sacrificed, it doesn’t matter if you put it all on the line.
It doesn’t matter how much you’ve followed the rules, sometimes other people are going to say the rules just don’t apply to you and keep whatever it is from you. I think even when we feel we have earned something we cannot take it for granted that we actually received it, because it’s not always the case.
