Simply because we don’t see

Just because you do not experience something, does not mean it doesn’t exist. You see, the thing is that maybe many have been deceived into thinking that racism had died but in all actuality it seems to have simply become taboo to put it on display out in the open. As well it seems to have become taboo to talk about the daily instances and effects of it. It’s as if victims (of any abuse, not just racism) are supposed to simply stop thinking about what they have been through and go through daily and are supposed to get over it and continue life. I know it’s hard when we don’t see or hear something, but we can’t assume that something is no longer happening or does not exists simply because we don’t see, hear, or experience it.
