When people state, suggest, or imply that you should not have an opinion or that you shouldn’t have an opinion unless certain qualifications are fulfilled I think they are wrong.
I think they are trying to say that because you are likely to be wrong that your opinion is invalid and unwanted. The problem is, if being wrong stopped so-called experts from forming opinions, hypothesis, theories, etc, then where would we be?
Now I’m not saying that your opinion must be heard all the time, nor am I arguing that your opinion is important, but having an opinion about something, I think, is always a good thing, preferably if your willing to adjust your opinion due to whatever new information you may come across.
