Communication can be destructive or constructive

Communication can be destructive, resulting in more misunderstanding, distance, and increased negative emotions in a relationship, or constructive, functioning to increase the understanding, closeness, and positive emotions in a relationship. At various times and in different situations, we all take part in both destructive and constructive communication, but when we someone you love is depressed, communicating constructively as much as you can is vital.
