Depression & Conflictual Relationships

Recent research into the relationship between social support and depression has found that having an intimate relationship can protect one from becoming depressed or help one to overcome depression more easily. Even more impressive research has shown that having a conflictual relationship with your partner can be worse than having no relationship at all. In other words, if your relationship with your partner is conflictual and difficult, it can worsen the depression.
